Paperless Inventory System
Everything you need to take inventory and do cycle counts automatically!

Over the years we have helped literally hundreds of companies save time and money by automating inventory and cycle counting by using hand held computers and bar codes. These automated systems reduce the time and labor required to perform counts and at the same time will virtually eliminate data entry errors. Our clients typically can collect inventory data faster, at a lower cost, and with greater integrity than they ever could with pen and paper.

The following outlines the steps required to implement a basic system:
  • Step 1:
Print and apply bar codes for each storage location in a warehouse. Usually these bar codes contain aisle/row/bin numbering information and are placed over or near each bin. IBT will gladly generate these labels as part of the system
  • Step 2:
Develop the program for the hand held computer that allows users to collect inventory data. Typically these programs prompt users to scan locations, product numbers and key in quantities. This data will be stored in the hand held computer's memory until it is transmitted to a host system and erased from the hand held.
  • Step 3: PTC-910L Hand held
Upload collected inventory data (usually to a PC) for processing by host computing system.

    System Components: PTC-910L Hand held

  •   Built-in bar code laser scanner
  •   Eight to ten hour battery life
  •   Takes 4 foot drops to concrete
  •   1 MB RAM for program and data storage
  •   Four line display, MS-DOS operating system, 37 key keyboard
  •   Optional carrying holster with belt or shoulder straps

Data collectionData Collection Program for Hand Held Computer

  •   Easy to use data collection program that prompts users to scan
location / product bar codes, and key in on hand quantities
  •   Inventory information stored in hand held's RAM as a comma
      delimited ASCII file
  •   Operators follow simple prompting messages to transmit collected
data to host system via direct connect (RS232) or modem.
  •   We can customize the data collection application to meet your unique
      operational requirements.

    Bar Codes
  •   We'll print your location numbers in both a bar code and human
readable format on tear resistant, long lasting label stock.
  •   We'll make sure that the location labels are designed to work optimally     with the hand held scanners.
  •   If your products or pallets are not already bar coded, we'll set you up
with an on site label printer that will allow you to print your own codes.

    System Cost:

  •   Pricing for hand held computers (depends on type and configuration)
      ranges from $500 to $1,695
  •   Pricing on the software typically ranges from $250 to $3,000-depending on sophistication
  •   Pre-printed location labels will cost about $95 to $135 per thousand labels
